Replenishing Essence and Blood, Nourishing the Liver and Kidney for Optimal Health: Effective Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescriptions
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it is said that deficiency of both the Liver and Kidney is more concerning than simple Kidney deficiency. If you suffer from Liver and Kidney insufficiency, it may lead to premature aging, premature graying of hair, generalized fatigue, insomnia and forgetfulness, tinnitus or deafness, blurred vision, impaired mobility of the limbs, and osteoporosis. Men may also experience sexual dysfunction.
TCM theory holds that the tendons and joints of the entire body are governed by the Liver, while the bones are governed by the Kidney; therefore, your bones and muscles will only be strong if your Liver and Kidneys are healthy. Today, I will share a Chinese patent medicine that nourishes both the Liver and Kidney while replenishing both essence and blood, ensuring healthy waist and legs and overall physical well-being. This medicine is Duhuo Jisheng Wan.
In the formula, the herbs *Radix Angelicae Pubescentis* (Duhuo), *Radix Gentianae Macrophyllae* (Qinjiao), *Ramulus Cinnamomi* (Guizhi), *Radix Saposhnikoviae* (Fangfeng), and *Herba Asari* (Xixin) function to dispel wind, eliminate dampness, disperse cold, and expel pathogenic wind-cold-dampness from the bone marrow. *Herba Taxilli* (Sangjisheng), *Cortex Eucommiae* (Duzhong), and *Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae* (Niuxi) are specifically used to treat lower back pain, supplement the Liver and Kidney, and strengthen the tendons and bones. *Radix Angelicae Sinensis* (Danggui), *Rehmanniae Radix* (Dihuang), *Radix Paeoniae Alba* (Shaoyao), and *Rhizoma Chuanxiong* (Chuanxiong) promote the circulation of Qi and invigorate the Blood. *Radix Ginseng* (Renshen), *Poria* (Fuling), and *Radix Glycyrrhizae* (Gancao) function to strengthen the Spleen, benefit Qi, and supplement the Qi mechanism; when Qi and Blood are sufficient, they can nourish the tendons and bones. When combined, these ingredients collectively achieve the effects of nourishing the Blood, relaxing the tendons, supplementing the Liver and Kidney, dispelling wind, eliminating dampness, and dispersing cold.
However, a reminder to everyone: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) medication requires syndrome differentiation (Bian Zheng). If needed, please consult a professional physician promptly for diagnosis, treatment, and conditioning.
