Frequent Urination and Inability to Hold It? Here’s a Simple Formula for You
Many people don't drink much water, yet they urinate frequently—sometimes needing to go every half hour. Furthermore, they suffer from severe urinary urgency, feeling the need to rush to the bathroom at the slightest hint of urine. Frequent nighttime urination also severely impacts their sleep quality. This is often accompanied by symptoms such as lower back soreness, fatigue, physical exhaustion, and cold hands and feet. In most cases, this condition is caused by a deficiency in Kidney Yang and the dysfunction of "Qi transformation" in the bladder.
Only when Kidney Yang is sufficient can the body properly regulate the bladder's urinary function and the metabolism of fluids. Therefore, when Kidney Yang is insufficient, the bladder's ability to "consolidate and contain" decreases, leading to frequent urination. In such cases, the focus should be on warming Kidney Yang and consolidating urination. There is a formula composed of Lindera root (Wu Yao), Chinese Yam (Shan Yao), and Black Cardamom (Yi Zhi Ren). Among them, Lindera root warms the meridians and dispels cold; Black Cardamom warms the kidneys and secures essence; and Chinese Yam strengthens the spleen and tonifies the kidneys. When these three herbs are combined, they work together to warm Kidney Yang and stabilize urinary control.
