First is blurred vision. For those with deficient kidney essence, their liver blood is often insufficient. When liver blood is inadequate, it cannot nourish the eyes, making a person prone to symptoms like dim vision and blurred sight.

Second is frequent dizziness and vertigo. This is a manifestation of kidney essence failing to rise and nourish the "Sea of Marrow" (the brain).

Third is the tendency to experience tinnitus; this is a manifestation of declining kidney essence failing to nourish the orifices of the ears.

Fourth is loose teeth, frequent toothaches, or tooth loss. When kidney essence is insufficient, it cannot transform into bone marrow, causing the teeth to frequently become loose or fall out.

Fifth is frequent soreness and weakness in the lower back and knees. After kidney essence is depleted, the "kidney mansion" (the lower back) enters a state of emptiness. The body lacks nourishment, leading to soreness in the waist and knees, and a feeling of fatigue after even slight movement.

Sixth is excessive night sweats. This occurs because the deficiency of kidney essence leads to an increase in internal "deficiency heat," which forces sweat out of the body.

The seventh is frequent palpitations and insomnia. These patients are often prone to overthinking and harbor feelings of pessimism and despair. This leads to a deficiency in kidney essence, which fails to transform into Qi and blood; since the blood cannot nourish the heart, the individual suffers from insomnia and wakes up easily.

The eighth is persistent fatigue and a lack of energy. When essence and blood are insufficient, they cannot nourish the muscle tissues, making a person feel constantly tired or even breathless after slight exertion.

How many of these do you have?
