Excessive Phlegm That Never Ends? Here's a Chinese Patent Medicine to Fortify the Spleen, Dissolve Phlegm-Dampness, and Cut Off the Source of Phlegm Production
If you have excessive phlegm in your throat that never seems to clear, accompanied by poor appetite, abdominal bloating, loose stools, and heavy limbs, and you've tried numerous lung-clearing and phlegm-dissolving medications to little effect, it's likely because the treatment hasn't targeted the root cause. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) believes that the spleen governs water metabolism and transforms dampness, expelling excess fluids from the body. If the spleen and stomach are weak, not only will digestion suffer, but excess fluids will also fail to be expelled. These fluids accumulate in the body and are stored in the lungs, leading to an endless production of phlegm. Therefore, the lungs are merely the vessel that stores phlegm, while the spleen is the source of its production. Today, I'd like to share a Chinese patent medicine called Xiangsha Liujun Wan, which can fortify the spleen and transform dampness, helping to eliminate phlegm at its source.
It is composed of Codonopsis Root (Dangshen), Atractylodes Rhizome (Baizhu), Poria (Fuling), Amomum Fruit (Sharen), Pinellia Rhizome (Banxia), Tangerine Peel (Chenpi), Aucklandia Root (Muxiang), and Licorice Root (Gancao). Codonopsis Root and Atractylodes Rhizome target the spleen meridian and have the effects of boosting qi and fortifying the spleen, enhancing all aspects of spleen and stomach function. Poria and Amomum Fruit also target the spleen meridian, serving to fortify the spleen and expel dampness, thereby strengthening the spleen and stomach's ability to metabolize fluids and expel dampness through spleen tonification. Pinellia Rhizome and Tangerine Peel can dry dampness and dissolve phlegm, removing dampness and phlegm from the body through their drying properties. Aucklandia Root has the effect of moving qi, ensuring that while tonifying the spleen and boosting qi, qi stagnation does not occur. Finally, Licorice Root harmonizes the properties of the other herbs, fortifies the spleen, boosts qi, expels dampness, and dissolves phlegm, cutting off the generation of phlegm at its source.
Remind everyone that traditional Chinese medicine medication requires syndrome differentiation. If needed, please consult and seek treatment from a professional doctor promptly.
